Dog clothing is not only a fashionable supplement, but also practical protection against cold, rain and wind. A well-chosen piece keeps your dog warm, protects his joints and makes the walks more comfortable – especially during the autumn-winter period. However, in order for the dog clothes to play their part in the long term, proper cleaning and care is important.<\/span><\/h5>\n
Good news: it’s not complicated, just a few ground rules to follow.<\/span><\/h5>\n

How often do you wash your dog clothes?<\/span><\/h3>\n

That depends on how often and under what circumstances you use it. After a rough, rainy walk, it is understandable to wash immediately, while after a dry, short round of town, it can only be cleaned out.<\/span><\/p>\n

General rule:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • wash out every 1 to 2 weeks with regular use,<\/span><\/li>\n
  • heavily contaminated clothing always immediately,<\/span><\/li>\n
  • If it’s only slightly dirty, it could be quick cleaning or drying.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    It is important that you do not wait for the dirt to “burn” into the material – so the dress remains beautiful and functional.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Wash: gently but thoroughly<\/span><\/h3>\n

    The substance of dog clothes is often special: water-spilling, lined or flexible, so too strong washing can damage it. Always check the label before washing, but if there is no special marking, the following should be observed:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Wash at low temperature (around 30 \u00b0 C)<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Use a spare program<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Turn the dress around<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Avoid heavy centrifugation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Use detergent to choose a non-scented, gentle version. Strong odors and chemicals can irritate your dog’s skin, especially if it is more sensitive.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Don’t use a rinse – although we smell good, the skin of dogs is not always a friend.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Dry – no matter how<\/span><\/h3>\n

      Most of the dog clothes don’t like the dryer. High heat can damage the material, seams and water-rolling layer.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The best solution is:<\/span><\/p>\n

        \n
      • air drying,<\/span><\/li>\n
      • room temperature,<\/span><\/li>\n
      • laid or on a shoulder tree.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Do not put it on a radiator or on a hot sun – the dress may lose its shape and become worn out sooner.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Small fixes, big difference<\/span><\/h3>\n

        It is worth looking over the dog clothes at times: whether a seam is loose, whether a tear or a rubber is worn. A minor repair is much easier than replacing a completely ruined piece.<\/span><\/p>\n

        If the dress is still clean, but the Velcro is full of hair, a little brush or tweezers can easily be cleaned – so it will close again.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Storage – it counts outside the season<\/span><\/h3>\n

        When you don’t need the dog clothes, put it clean and dry. Best:<\/span><\/p>\n

        • you don’t collect,<\/span><\/li>\n
        • You keep it in a good ventilation room,<\/span><\/li>\n
        • There’s no heavy object pressing on it.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          So you can get it in good shape next season.<\/span><\/p>\n
